Signs, signs, everywhere there's signs..
i feel like signs are ubiquitous. no, im not talking about street signs, but tiny, seemingly insignificant happenings that work themselves into your head and force you to think twice about them. i know you know what im talking about.

do you ignore them or listen to them? are they even real?
now lets not get it twisted, im not talking about superstitions. no 'walk under the ladder and a million years bad luck' kinda thing. just things that happen that have no associated meaning..
one 'sign' in particular that happens to me is street lights going out when i pass under them. not every time, but often enough that it sparked my curiosity. at first i thought i was imaging it, until it kept happening over and over again. now when im with someone and it happens, i specifically ask them if they saw that. just to reinforce to myself that im not making it up. i dont know what this means, but its weird and habitual. which definitely leads me to think hard about its significance.

i have no explanation, logical or not. but, i can specualate. i like to believe that these lights going out are an indication of direction. the extinguishing lights are a sign im on the right path. i know its cheesy, but i used to think it was a sign of something evil, so at least im thinking happier thoughts nowadays.
anyway, back to my original thought. what im talking about (signs in general) isnt limited to obvious events. its the subtle ones that are the most remarkable. because theyre so small that how could they ever mean anything important? im talking about when you dont have to use words to communicate with someone bc you know they are thinking the same thing? or when you have a dream about something very specific, and you find out later that someone important in your life was talking about the very thing you dreamed of, at the same time you were dreaming it? its stuff like that, that this whole post is about. the tiny things that make you think twice.
what do the little things mean? should i even pay attention to them... its hard to write them off as irrelevant.

street lights crap out for me too. so perhaps it is not the light of a headlight, but the light of a person that is sufficient enough to show others the way. or maybe i just like to tell myself that... heheh.. who knows
